Inside EJA's Learning Management System: A Closer Look at How Training Actually Works
We've written before about why training needs a real system instead of a folder of PDFs. This time, instead of talking in generalities, let's walk through what the Learning Management System inside EJA ERP actually looks like in practice.
A Dedicated Space for Every Course
Open the LMS from your EJA dashboard and you land on Trainings — a clean, organized view of every course in your organization, sorted by category, publish status, and recency. Each course card shows exactly what you need at a glance:
- A category tag (like "Cybersecurity") so training is grouped by topic, not buried in a generic list
- Publish status — a course marked "Published" is live and assignable, so there's never ambiguity about what's actually available to staff versus still in draft
- A short description of what the training covers and why it matters
- Lesson count — so employees and managers know the scope before diving in
- Number of employees assigned — visible right on the card, without opening a separate report
For example, a published cybersecurity course on recognizing phishing emails and suspicious links might show "5 Lessons" and "3 employees" assigned — giving a manager immediate visibility into both the depth of the training and who's actually been enrolled, without digging through menus.
Four Views, One Training Record
The LMS is organized around four tabs that map to how training actually gets used day to day:
- All Courses — the full course library, searchable and filterable by status
- Assignments — see what's been assigned to whom, rather than assuming staff have found it themselves
- My Learning — each employee's personal view of the courses they've been assigned, so there's no confusion about what they're responsible for completing
- Certificates — a record of completed training, giving both employees and managers a trackable history rather than a verbal "yes, I think they finished it"
This structure is what turns training from something that happens once into something that's actually managed — assigned, tracked, and documented over time.
Built for Managers Who Don't Have Time to Chase People Down
Creating a new course is a single action — a "Create Training" button front and center on the dashboard — with built-in search, sorting ("Most Recent First"), and status filtering to keep even a growing course library organized. For an HR manager juggling dozens of responsibilities, that simplicity matters more than a feature-heavy interface that takes a training session of its own just to learn.
Why This Matters More Than It Looks
It's easy to underestimate how much of training's failure comes down to visibility, not content. Good training materials that nobody can track, assign, or confirm completion on might as well not exist operationally — there's no way to prove they worked. By pairing course content with a clear structure (categories, publish status, lesson counts, assigned employees, and certificates), EJA's LMS closes that visibility gap directly.
And because this lives inside the same platform as Employee records and Departments, assigning a course to "3 employees" means assigning it to real staff records already in the system — not a manually maintained list that falls out of sync the moment someone changes roles.
Getting Started
If you're already on EJA ERP, open Trainings from your dashboard to see your existing courses or create your first one. With categories, publish status, and employee assignment built in from day one, it takes less time to get training organized than it does to explain why it hasn't been until now.
Already using EJA ERP? Head to Trainings under the Learning Management System to create your first course. New to EJA? Explore the platform to see how training fits into the bigger picture.
